Kapeka Yu
Aloha! I was born and raised in Seoul, Korea, and throughout my life, I’ve had the opportunity to live in various vibrant cities such as Honolulu, Seattle, Los Angeles, and New York City.
My passion for teaching Korean has led me to diverse experiences, including instructing at the after-school program for Business School and a private high school in Manhattan, NY. I’ve had the privilege of teaching both group and private classes, along with online sessions, accumulating 7 years of valuable teaching experience. I also have a passion for teaching math, and recently I taught it at a private high school in Honolulu.
Education-wise, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from CUNY. My hobbies are hiking, reading books, listening to various genres of music, and traveling.
Beyond my academic and teaching pursuits, my love for K-pop and K-dramas knows no bounds. It’s a pleasure to witness the global impact of Korean entertainment. As someone deeply rooted in Korean culture and history, I greatly admire the Sejong the Great for his invention of 한글 and his profound contributions to education. My sincere hope is that many students find joy in learning Korean and, inspired by their studies, embark on journeys to Korea to immerse themselves in the rich culture and 정.
Mahalo!
